Tripl-i integrates artificial intelligence throughout the platform to automate complex tasks, surface actionable insights, and reduce manual effort across your IT operations.

Overview

AI capabilities in Tripl-i fall into three categories:

  • Automated Discovery & Analysis - AI that works in the background during scans and event processing
  • On-Demand Intelligence - AI insights you can request for any asset or service
  • Conversational Access - Natural language queries through the AI chatbot

Business Service Analyzer

Automatically discover and map your business services by analyzing infrastructure relationships.

What it does:

  • Analyzes your service description and suggests related infrastructure components
  • Discovers servers, databases, and network connections that support the service
  • Classifies discovered components by role (frontend, application, data, infrastructure)
  • Generates architecture analysis with dependency maps, risks, and recommendations

How to use it:

  1. Navigate to Service Mapping > Business Service Analyzer
  2. Describe your business service (e.g., "E-commerce platform handling online sales")
  3. Select known software components
  4. Click Enrich to let AI suggest additional components
  5. Click Discover to find matching infrastructure
  6. Review the architecture analysis and save

Business value: Reduce infrastructure documentation from weeks to hours. Identify single points of failure and architectural weaknesses automatically.

CI Insights

Get AI-generated analysis of any Configuration Item to understand its role, criticality, and risks.

What it does:

  • Analyzes the CI's properties, relationships, and context
  • Explains the asset's purpose in your organization
  • Assesses criticality and business impact
  • Identifies potential risks and optimization opportunities
  • Tracks insight history over time

How to use it:

  1. Open any CI in the CMDB
  2. Click AI Insights
  3. Review the generated analysis
  4. View historical insights to track changes over time

Business value: New staff understand system architecture faster. Better context for change management and impact analysis decisions.

AI Relationship Discovery

Automatically discover and classify dependencies between systems based on network communication patterns.

What it does:

  • Analyzes network connections detected during discovery scans
  • Determines relationship types (authentication, data transfer, management, backup)
  • Assigns confidence scores to each discovered relationship
  • Identifies service dependencies with importance ratings

How to use it: Relationship discovery runs automatically during scan processing. View discovered relationships on any CI's Relationships tab, where AI-enriched relationships include:

  • Purpose and description of the connection
  • Confidence score
  • Business impact assessment
  • Risk level

Business value: Reduce manual relationship mapping by 70%+. Find undocumented connections automatically and understand what breaks if a system goes down.

AI Chatbot

Ask questions about your infrastructure in plain language and get instant answers.

What it does:

  • Understands natural language queries about your CMDB
  • Searches for CIs by name, type, tags, or description
  • Looks up relationships and dependencies
  • Retrieves event and incident information
  • Maintains conversation context across multiple questions

Example conversations:

  • "Show me all production database servers"
  • "What applications depend on the MySQL database?"
  • "Have we had any incidents with the email servers recently?"
  • "Find all servers tagged as critical in the London datacenter"

How to use it: Click the AI Chat icon in the navigation bar to open the chatbot panel. Type your question in natural language.

Event AI Analysis

Automatically analyze events and incidents for anomalies and potential root causes.

What it does:

  • Analyzes incoming events for unusual patterns
  • Generates anomaly scores indicating how unusual an event is
  • Provides root cause hypotheses based on context and history
  • Suggests remediation actions
  • Identifies related historical events

How to use it: Event analysis runs automatically when events are ingested. View AI analysis results on the Event Details page, including:

  • Anomaly score and explanation
  • Root cause hypothesis
  • Related historical events
  • Recommended actions

Find assets and information using natural language descriptions rather than exact keywords.

What it does:

  • Generates semantic embeddings for all CIs and relationships
  • Enables similarity-based search across your entire CMDB
  • Finds related systems without needing exact names or keywords
  • Supports both semantic and tag-based search modes

How to use it:

  1. Navigate to CMDB > Search
  2. Choose Semantic Search or Tag Search mode
  3. Type a natural language description (e.g., "systems similar to our production MySQL server")
  4. Review results ranked by relevance

Business value: Find systems without knowing exact names. Identify similar infrastructure components for comparison and standardization.

AI Auto-Tagging

Automatically categorize Configuration Items with meaningful tags based on AI analysis.

What it does:

  • Analyzes hostname patterns, OS, installed software, and custom fields
  • Assigns tags from 12 categories: Environment, Criticality, Compliance, Security, Lifecycle, Ownership, Location, Role, Infrastructure, Support, Backup, Patching
  • Runs automatically when new Server CIs are created
  • Tags are searchable and filterable across the CMDB

How to use it: Auto-tagging runs automatically for new Server CIs. You can also:

  1. Open a CI and view its Tags section
  2. Manually add or remove tags
  3. Search by tags using the Tag Search mode in CMDB Search

Business value: Consistent categorization across your entire fleet without manual effort. Enable tag-based reporting and compliance tracking.

Software Catalog Enrichment

AI-assisted enrichment of your software catalog with vendor, licensing, and classification metadata.

How to use it:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Software Catalog
  2. Select entries to enrich
  3. Click AI Enrich
  4. Review and approve AI-generated metadata

Holiday Generator

Generate accurate holiday calendars for any country, used for maintenance scheduling and SLA calculations.

How to use it:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Holidays
  2. Select a country and year
  3. Click Generate Holidays
  4. Review and customize the generated calendar
