What is the AI Chatbot?
The Tripl-i AI Chatbot is a conversational interface that lets you query your entire IT infrastructure using natural language. Instead of navigating multiple screens or writing complex filters, you can simply ask questions like "Show me all Linux servers in production" and get instant, accurate answers drawn from your live CMDB data.

How to Access
Click the AI Chat icon in the top navigation bar. A chat panel opens on the right side of your screen. You can use the chatbot from any page in Tripl-i — it stays open as you navigate.

The chatbot understands questions across seven capability areas:
Infrastructure Queries
Ask about your servers, workstations, network devices, and other configuration items.

Software & Applications
Query your software inventory, installed applications, and software catalog.

- "Show me the software catalog for Oracle products"
Compliance & Governance
Check compliance status across frameworks like SOX, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS.

How It Works
- You ask a question in plain language
- The AI interprets your intent and selects the right data source
- A live query runs against your CMDB (filtered to your tenant)
- Results are formatted into a clear, readable response
- Follow-up questions are understood in context — you can drill deeper without repeating yourself
The chatbot queries your live database directly. This means answers are always current and accurate, reflecting the latest discovery scans and manual updates.
Context Awareness
The chatbot is aware of where you are in the application. If you have a specific CI open, you can ask questions about it directly:
- "Tell me about this server" (when viewing a CI detail page)
- "What's connected to this?" (shows relationships for the current CI)
- "Any vulnerabilities?" (checks the current CI's vulnerability status)
Write Operations
For safety, any action that would modify data (such as updating a CI field or changing a status) requires your explicit confirmation before it executes. The chatbot will show you exactly what it plans to change and wait for your approval.
